Setbacks come to us all.
I have been working on my dissertation on leadership development for the past two years.
Recently, I had a new committee chair assigned, and she pointed out some real problems with my research.
It was highly frustrating.
Nevertheless, she got on a call with me, and we worked out a strategy to complete the work.
This is what I have needed from the beginning.
I might have been done by now if she had been my chair from the beginning.
However, what matters is that I now see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I can do this.
Furthermore, the lesson here is that everyone needs a mentor to help them become successful.
Let us not forget that as we go through our day.
If you are not mentoring someone, you might consider looking around to find someone you can help.
If you are a leader, this is not optional.
It has to be done.
Let us all make sure we are mentoring at least one person.
You are making the world better one life at a time.
Because your leadership matters.
