Is Leadership Development Outdated

I ran across an interesting article the other day. It claims that the wrong people evaluate leadership development programs. Usually, we leave it to the participants and senior leadership. But is the real test of value whether those leaders make an increased impact on those they lead? If so, shouldn't we have the leaders' teams involved in the evaluation process? What do you think?

I completely agree that leadership programs are often evaluated by the wrong perspective. Including the team’s feedback can reveal real-world effectiveness. When I took health and social care courses, peer and mentor input made a huge difference in understanding how leadership skills translate into practical impact on those you support.
