For the purposes of this Field Notice, use only the serial numbers listed above to identify the units that may exhibit label issues. No other serial numbers are affected. Customers can find the S/N from either the back of the phone or the bottom of the phone (please refer to these two photos):

I am parsing the show version command for a series of information. Maybe there is any easier way, but I am trying to return all the serial numbers for devices in a stack. Currently I am only getting back the active switches serial number. Also I need to search through multiple areas for the serial number. Both Processor Board ID and System Serial Number.
No matter what Cisco device I would like this to pull the serial number and if there are multiple devices in a stack return all the serial numbers for devices in the stack. Also it should return IP, hostname, Version of Code and Model.
In some cases, you may even find that none of the serial numbers that you find by connecting to the router actually match the serial number on the sticker on the outside of the router. In addition, the results that you get will vary from router platform to router platform.
Here are three options for remotely retrieving serial numbers over the network. These solutions assume that you have a newer router in which the output of the serial number from the IOS matches the physical router serial number, that you have programmed the serial number into the IOS, or that you are comfortable using the serial number that the IOS provides.

I work for an ISP and sometimes there can be an issue when our entrepreneur installs MR/MS devices and forget to send us serial numbers before leaving the location, then I'm not able to easily add the devices to Meraki dashboard.
With our tunnels encrypted and both nodes authenticated the vBond can now proceed with sending our vEdge the IP addresses of our organizations vManage and vSmart nodes along with their serial numbers. This article provides the instructions to register devices with serial numbers, an advanced device registration method ideal for bulk-registering devices in your local network. However, this method is only limited to devices that embed serial numbers to the device fingerprint. This method supports pre-provisioning devices offline using serial numbers, MAC addresses, or device identities (which may be unique IDs) allowing users to register devices even before receiving them. The device will be automatically registered once the device is connected (online) to the network.

Before you install your device(s), make sure you record the serial number for each. You can find the serial number on the bottom of the device. This is the quickest way for your support member to find your information.
